Peace Day in Odessa: flashmob on Primorsky Boulevard, thematic lessons at schools, conference

The International Day of Peace ("Peace Day") is observed around the world each year on 21 September. Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution, Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace.

Within the XVIII peacekeeping program of "International Day of Peace" in Odessa educational institutions were held citywide peace lessons, in Odessa House of Scientists took place a conference, and was organized flashmob "The Jubilee of Peace" on Potemkin Stairs.

Pupils of the Black Sea flotilla have unfurled 20 meters long towel with the names of schools, organizations and cities that embroidered it. Children and participants in the choirs of Odessa Holy Archangel Michael Church of the Women's and St. Iversky Monasteries have performed the Prayer for Ukraine.

White doves were released in the sky as a symbol of peace.
