Gennadiy Trukhanov: Opening of the EBRD office in Odessa will give Odessa entrepreneurs opportunities to expand their activities and enter the EU market
The regional branch of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was officially opened in Odessa on May 30, 2017. There were introduced the heads of the branch and were determined the strategic goals of the branch during the ceremonial reception.
Talking about the importance of opening the EBRD branch in Odessa, the mayor of the city Gennadiy Trukhanov noted that the new office provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs of Odessa and the South of Ukraine to expand their activities and in the countries of the European Union.
"Even today there is a positive dynamics in Ukraine's export relations with the EU. The opening of an office in Odessa will give Odessa entrepreneurs additional opportunities to expand their activities, enter the EU market. The presence of this international organization in the city in addition will increase the status of Odessa for foreign investors," Gennadiy Trukhanov said.
Talking about cooperation with the city, Gennadiy Trukhanov noted that Odessa has a strong financial support from EBRD for the implementation of major infrastructure projects: 45 new trolleybuses will appear in Odessa in the nearest future. Negotiations are under way to allocate loan funds for the renovation of the tram park.

In Ukraine it has been functioning since 1992 and today it is the largest institutional investor.
