The 100th anniversary of the independence of Poland was celebrated in Odesa with a massive race
A race in honor of the 100th anniversary of the declaration of independence of Poland was held in Odesa
On November 3, 2018 a race dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the independence of Poland was held in T. Shevchenko’s Park.
The organizer of the race is Odesa branch of the Union of Poles in Ukraine named after A. Mickiewicz under the patronage of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Odesa.
The square near the stage of scene "Shell" was decorated with the red-and-white colors of the Polish flag. While the participants were registering, a quiz on knowledge of the history and traditions of Poland was held on the stage for the guests.
The Consul of the Republic of Poland in Odesa, Andrzej Szmidtke, talked to the audience, noting that today the youth actively takes part in the first race dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence.
About 200 people made a massive race at a distance of 1918 meters, which symbolized the year when Poland gained independence.
All the participants of the race received memorable diplomas, and the winners received awards and prizes.
