Tomorrow, on July 13, 2018, the IX International Film Festival (OIFF) will be opened in Odessa.
The opening ceremony of the film festival is scheduled for 19:00, and will take place at Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.
The beginning of the film festival will traditionally begin with the guests' parade on the Red Carpet at 18:00.
Every year at the time of OIFF tourist flow to Odessa increases. Last year about 125 thousand spectators have visited Odessa Film Festival.
In the competitive and out-of-competition programs of the festival were shown 107 films from 36 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, South and North America.
This year IX Odessa International Film Festival will last from July 13 to July 21.
Within the framework of the festival, in addition to the International Competition Program, will be traditionally presented: the National Competition Program (full meter and short meter), Festival of Festivals, Gala-premieres, Ukrainian retrospective, as well as special shows - films created by the guests of the film festival or jury members.
In addition, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Israeli cinema, the Odessa Film Festival will show the viewers cultural diversity of the Israeli society.
Within the framework of the festival will also be professional sections and a summer film school. On the second day of the film festival, on Potemkin Stairs will take place a film program of the 1923 "Black and White" tape "Safety Last" directed by Sam Taylor and Fred Newmeyer.
