Every year in Ukraine the sailors of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine mark their professional holiday on the first Sunday of July.

The main celebrations took place on Sunday, July 1, 2018, with participation of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, heads of local authorities of Odessa and region, veterans of the Armed Forces, volunteers, military chaplains, members of the public.

The celebration began with the ceremony of including new small armored artillery boats of the Ukrainian Navy and the raising of the Navy Flag and flags of coloring on warships and support vessels.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine gave honorary state awards to military seamen. On this day was also kept a minute of silence in memory of those who died performing their duties at the fighting post.

The celebration continued with the defile of the Center of Military and Music Art of the Ukrainian Navy.

On this festive day ships, boats and military equipment of the Navy were opened at the Maritime Terminal. There were also held presentations of military educational institutions and master classes on naval subjects.
