On May 8, 2018 - on the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation - on the Walk of Fame clergymen of various religious faiths held a joint prayer for defenders of the Motherland, as well as for peace and harmony in Ukraine.
The memory of victims of the Second World War honored with laying flowers at the monument to Unknown Sailor.
The solemn ceremony was attended by: heads of the city, region, city district administrations, deputies, representatives of law enforcement agencies and various branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, representatives of state services of Ukraine, clergy and public.
On this day, in the temples of the city of Odessa are held prayers for the victims of World War II, peace, harmony in Ukraine, as well as prayers for defenders of the Motherland.

On November 24, 2004, the UN General Assembly proclaimed May 8 and 9 the Days of Remembrance and Reconciliation. Recognizing that States can have their Days of Victory, Liberation and Celebration, the UN has proposed all Member States, UN organizations, non-governmental organizations and individuals to mark annually one of these days, or both, as a tribute to all victims of the Second World War.
