A concert "Global Jazz Day UNESCO" "Jazz and Classics" will be held in Odessa Philharmonic on April 30, 2018 in the framework of the International Day of Jazz.
The beginning is at 19:00.
"Jazz and Classics" is a large-scale project with participation of 65 musicians. This year the concert will feature an unusual synthesis of music. Outstanding masters of academic and jazz music - symphony orchestra and big band, choir, soloists, string quartet and jazz trio - will perform in the genres of the concert, mass, chamber music, using elements of swing and improvisation.
The string quartet “Harmony of the World” will perform jazz fantasies on the themes of Richard Rogers and Jerome Kern, Erroll Garner, Jimmy McHugh and Antonio Jobim.
The choir of Yuri Kuchurivsky with participation of the soloist of the Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater Yulia Vorokh together with the trio of Alexei Petukhov will present fragments of the jazz mess “Mass in Blue” by modern English author Will Todd. In the jazz marathon will also perform Rachel Terien (USA) with the trio of Alexei Petukhov. The lady playing the trumpet will expand vision of music lovers about the role of female improvisers in modern jazz.
