Within the celebration of Christmas at the Dumskaya Square was held a concert and was presented a huge gingerbread chocolate cake. The Christmas cake was made in the style of famous Gogol's "Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka". Odessa artist has been drawing 58 pictures on the gingerbread the cake for three days. The cake has a diameter of 3 meters. Everyone who wanted received a packaged piece of Christmas treats.

This day an open folklore festival "Christmas on Deribasovskaya" was organized on the main street of Odessa. The festival is held annually, attracting children and adults to a bright and cheerful holiday, telling about Ukrainian culture and traditions.

And in the evening of January 8, a parade of festively decorated trams passed through the city gathering citizens and guests at the Christmas concert.
