Within the framework of cooperation between Bulgaria and Ukraine the classroom for studying European languages (among which is Bulgarian) was opened in Odessa school number 31 on November 1, 2017. Young Odessa citizens will be taught Bulgarian language by teachers from Bulgaria.
The opening ceremony was attended by: Ministers of Education of Ukraine and Bulgaria Liliya Grinevich and Krasimir Vylchev, the city and region authorities, representatives of Bulgarian Embassy in Ukraine and the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Odessa.
The capital repair and equipping the classroom with multimedia and interactive machines was conducted with support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Odessa.
Lilia Grinevich congratulated pupils and teachers of the school with the opening of new opportunities, and also thanked the mayor of Odessa for creating appropriate conditions: "Each such step to create new opportunities is very important for the future of our children, regardless of their nationality."
The mayor of Odessa Gennadiy Trukhanov noted that such projects are actual and very important in intercultural and multinational city of Odessa. They serve the preservation of traditions and culture of national minorities living in Odessa.
The mayor of Odessa expressed gratitude to the Bulgarian side for participating in the renovation and equipping of the classroom.

In order to satisfy the requirements of national minorities in Odessa schools are studied: Polish, Modern Greek, Bulgarian and Hebrew languages.
In addition, Odessa pupils study: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian and Chinese.
