Biography

Gennadiy Trukhanov was born on January 17, 1965 in Odessa.

1982 – entered the Odessa Higher Command Artillery College.
1986 – after graduating, was given the military rank of Lieutenant as well as certified as a civil engineer (motor-vehicle maintenance and repair).
1986-1992 – served in the Armed Forces and got the military rank of Captain.
1993 – started a private company.
1995 – became the President of the Ukrainian National Federation of Thai Boxing (Muay Thai).
2004-2007 – fulfilled duties in executive personnel body of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine.
April 2005 – elected Member of the Odessa City Council.
2006 - re-elected Member of the Odessa City Council, headed the Committee on Youth and Sports of the Odessa City Council.
August 2008 – appointed Representative of the State Committee on Veterans’ Affairs in the Odessa region.
2012 – elected Member of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine.

May 2014 – won the municipal elections and became the Mayor of the City of Odessa.

Since September 26, 2014, the President of the European Muaythai Federation

October 2015 – re-elected Mayor of the City of Odessa.


Family:
Married and has two daughters: Catherine (born in 1986) and Alice (born in 2000).
