Innovations in providing travel routes for people with special needs presented at the World Summit on accessible tourism in Brussels

At the beginning of October 2018, the World Summit on Affordable Tourism was held in Brussels.
The main goal of the summit is to familiarize participants with innovations in the tourism sector, which are aimed at ensuring the availability of certain tourist routes for people with special needs.

Odesa was presented at the summit by the chairman of the public organization - the sports club for the disabled “Odessa-Basket” - Oleg Prokhorov. The trip was carried out with the support of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Odesa City Council.

The World Summit discussed the main problems of accessible tourism that tourists may encounter at every stage of their journey, ranging from access to information, traveling by local transport to finding a place to live and participating in cultural or sporting events.

Today, in the field of tourism it is already recognized that people with disabilities have equal rights to receive travel services through travel independence, the availability of accessible services and infrastructure, the services of qualified service personnel, reliable information and inclusive marketing.
